PAESE CHE VAI, TRENO CHE TROVI

Sono appena rientrato nella fornace di Delhi (43 gradi!). Mi ha scaricato il treno di Chandighar, un treno carico di gente, con una sezione popolare tutta carne e sudore e un'altra con l'aria condizionata e cibo per i passeggeri piu' benestanti (come me!). Il treno e' passato libero attraverso le campagne per poi finire rinchiuso negli slum della metropoli. Mille contrasti ovunque: un mix interessante di vita che pulsa nel ventunesimo secolo e storia immobile di secoli passati. In mezzo io, che guardo, cerco di capire (tanto non ci riesco!) e mi appassiono: il cuore vince sul cervello e io me la godo.Tornato in ufficio ho ricevuto la seguente Travel Alert relativa ai trasporti in Italia. Per quanto al momento i mezzi di trasporto italiani siano ancora di gran lunga migliori rispetto a quelli indiani, ho l'impressione che se andiamo avanti cosi' finiamo maluccio...

Transport strikes scheduled for June:
June 1: Ground personnel at Milan's Malpensa (MXP) and Linate (LIN) Airports plan to strike all day. Flight delays and cancellations possible at Milan airports.
June 1: Local public transport workers in Milan to strike (0845-1500 and 1800-close of service). Disruptions on bus, tram and subway service possible.
June 4: Alitalia flight attendants to strike for four hours (1200-1600) nationwide. Air traffic controllers' union plans four-hour strike (1200-1600) the same day. Flight delays and cancellations possible.
June 5-8: Gas station owners and attendants plan to strike for several days. Strike to affect stations along major highways (autostradas) and minor roads. Highway gas stations will strike starting at 2200 June 5 until 2200 June 7. Along minor roads they will start 1930 June 5 until 1930 June 7. Gasoline availability may be limited during strike and may disrupt transportation during the stoppage.
June 8: Italian firemen to strike for four hours (1000-1400), disrupting flights nationwide.
June 15: Alitalia technicians to strike for four hours (1000-1400) nationwide. Flight delays and cancellations possible on both domestic and international flights.
June 16: Meridiana (IG) pilots to strike all day nationwide. Delays and cancellations on Meridiana flights possible.
June 21-22: Rail workers for Italian State Railroads plan to strike for 24 hours, starting at 2100 June 21. Strike may cause disruptions to passenger and freight service nationwide.
June 25: Italy's air traffic controllers' union has called a four-hour strike (1200-1600). Strike may cause disruptions in air traffic nationwide.
June 26: Meridiana (IG) pilots to strike all day nationwide. Delays and cancellations on Meridiana flights possible.
June 26: Ground personnel at Venice Airport (VCE) plan to strike for four hours (1200-1600), causing possible flight disruptions throughout the day at VCE.
